About The Artist
Melodia is an artist and a mother, living and creating art in the mountains of Colorado above Boulder. She has been primarily focused on oil painting since 2012. Melodia studied under the guidance of artist and visionary Professor Philip Rubinov Jacobson, participating in Old Masters New Visions seminars in Vienna Austria, Ubud Bali, and Boulder Colorado, 2013-2015. She has since adopted and experimented with mische ("mixed") technique methods of painting, using layers of egg tempera and several transparent colored oil glazes to create her luminous and dimensional paintings, inspired after dutch renaissance master painters. She takes her own modern approach to the application of color. With works ranging from more serious subject studies, old master studies, botanical art, portraits and imaginative landscapes, to more diverse abstract and comedic works, Melodia aims to bend the norms of feeling pressured to conform to a particular art genre, instead providing a diverse body of experimental and always evolving work.
My mission is to inspire and be inspired, I hope that my art visions bring excitement to the viewer and test the limits of what is possible to convey energetically through paint. Art is life and life is a journey.
